The Beginning

This blog has been an idea (and an empty layout) for a long time. Started even before we got married, me and my wife always wanted to share with the world our views on deep subjects, through the lens of our relationship, but not exclusively so. But then, as they say, life got in the way. In beautiful ways, difficult ways, normal ways, abnormal ways. As for everyone, we guess (and we know, to a certain extent). We were locked in the golden cage of Dubai for the better part of 5 years, and now finally we broke free. We can talk about that another time. Now it's time to begin this blog. Mysterious Container  by antontang I (the husband :P) don't know exactly what to start with, here. A manifesto is an option, a story is another option, an intro... So I will do a bit of everything, trying to be as concise as possible, because, as some of you may know, I tend to write and talk in very convoluted ways, and it usually ends up in rivers of words that become ...

Sporting Spirit

Long time without writing here, and I happen to have got the inspiration after watching the final match of the European soccer Champions' League (and a few drinks while watching, of course...) I'd like to start apologizing a bit if you felt that the blog started on a bit of a political note, despite what I tried to explain in its "manifesto". As my wife just told me to underline, we don't want this blog to be political, mainly because the current political landscape makes us pretty sick, and also because we think that part of this bad situation is caused exactly by talking/writing about politics instead of actually taking more interesting subjects. So, although we want to distance this blog from politics, we still want it to be in the vanguard when it comes to proposing and defending a certain manner of thinking and acting. About writing (this blog, and in general)

Husby writing, again. You will see a trend here, I know! But there's a good reason: among the two of us, the one that really enjoys writing is me. I'll go out a leg and declare here that I would even like writing to become my life, one day. So here's a post about writing. Dreams and wishes  by Rebeca-Cygnus I always thought of writing as a form of art. Like all art, it's part talent, part vocation, part hard work/practice. I like to think I got a lot of points in the vocation department, less in talent, and much less in the hard work. Especially because, compared to many readers I know, I don't read much, and I still didn't read many classics and non-classics that consensus declares as fundamental. This, I thought, was something of a problem if wanting to be a good writer. New Look

Husby speaking here, again! Hello to you few lucky souls reading! The look of this blog has changed quite a lot in the last few hours, and it's still probably going to change a lot in the near future. The challenge is trying to find a picture that is also a symbol of the whole message of this blog. Because yes, this is a blog "with a certain message to it" - (Quoting Homey The Clown, anyone remembers him??) So for now I'm settling with: Ocean Breeze  by KrisVlad A so-called "Daily Deviation" on deviantArt, from six years ago or so. The colors differ a bit from the ones used for our logo, but the message is clear: time, from earth, is circular. It's infinite. So even if the stars will die one day, for all purposes this is a symbol of "forever". The font used for the title is called "lobster", and this is a bit of trolling I'm doing...
